For organizations with employees in multiple countries, a global transformation could bring multiple different payroll systems together into one unified platform.
We spoke with Toni Hoffmann, director of financial people management at SIXT, at ADP’s ReThink Conference in Prague about how a unified global payroll system improves transparency and strategic planning for leaders.

You have to be open minded for emerging technologies. I mean, we see it with AI. We saw it with cloud software as a service.
Level transformation, effect workers and several ways. I would say, imagine in our situation, we had 7 to 8 different payroll engines. A lot of different systems. Right? That means no transparency, no processes, no clear guidance on how to access data for our workers, juggling 7 to 8 different portal logins to get payroll data like payslips. So our transformation was giving our employees easiness and it was seamless for them.
Right? So they are now able to get data where they know to find it. They don't have to struggling with “Where do I need to go? What do I need to do?” Now it's very clear for them. Very easy. We have one customer facing app, which helps them, to get the information they need when they need it.
So they concentrate on their work, which is good for an employers, right.
The top lessons learned within our transformation journey. I would say they are three. First talk and include the people you are working with. It is very necessary to get them onboard and to do the transition with them instead of the transition is happening to them. Second, create a foundation for transition, right? Means if you embark on the journey like a payroll transformation, make sure that the data foundation is already available and stable to go ahead.
Third, being transparent and know your partner. For us, it was very crucial to know, who ADP is and what kind of contacts we had within that journey. Because based on that cooperation, we were able to successfully execute the project.
