Air Products Relies on ADP to Help Build a More Engaged, Productive Workforce
June 11, 2015

BARCELONA, SPAIN -- (Marketwired) -- 06/11/15 -- ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today announced that Air Products, a leading industrial gases company with 20,000 employees in 50 countries, is expanding its relationship with ADP to better serve the overall needs of its workforce, including enhancing the timeliness, accuracy and compliance of payroll operations across Air Products' network of globally shared services centers.

From its Global Business Centers (GBS) in the United States, Barcelona, Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur, Air Products administers a range of services worldwide, including human resources (HR) administration, credit and collections, logistics, customer service, and accounting.

By leveraging ADP's integrated GlobalView® HCM solution, including ADP's best in class Global Payroll offering, Air Products now will be able to better meet the needs of its global workforce and align its business and HR strategies as it continues its global expansion. ADP's integrated solution also helps Air Products minimize noncompliance risk, lower costs, and standardize best practices from a single centralized point of governance.

The impact to its business has been significant. By implementing these solutions, Air Products went from 30 different HR systems -- and 30 different providers in Europe alone -- to a single provider: ADP.

Mark Benjamin, president of ADP's Global Enterprise Solutions business, observed that Air Products' challenge of managing employees around the world, while navigating multiple systems, is not uncommon. In fact, a recent ADP survey1 of multinational companies revealed that global enterprises manage, on average, 33 payroll systems and 31 HR systems at the same time.

"HR professionals are under tremendous pressure to deliver meaningful value at a lower cost," said Benjamin. "Yet it's almost impossible to deliver strategic insights on a global basis using data from dozens of HR and payroll systems. ADP provides the software and expertise to help companies like Air Products navigate global compliance and administrative responsibilities while staying focused on what matters most -- their employees."

ADP's solutions have enabled Air Products to deliver to its employees the same service excellence it delivers to its customers, according to Ferdinand Dragtstra, HR Services director at Air Products. As a result, he said, Air Products is able to support its workforce by enhancing engagement and enabling productivity.

"At all costs I want to avoid causing any kind of a negative impact on the personal lives of our employees," said Dragtstra. "ADP's comprehensive HCM solutions, its expertise, and its commitment to service have already helped us do this. We've been able to achieve high levels of accuracy, timeliness and compliance worldwide, which we measure using key performance indicators. This is important because we must make sure everyone gets paid by the 25th day of every month.

"Through our relationship with ADP, we've been able to align monthly paydays for all our employees," he continued. "Now, Air Products has been able to significantly improve payroll accuracy across the 50 countries in which we do business. This gives us confidence in ADP's ability to help us continue to serve our employees while we expand globally."

For 75 years, Air Products has been enabling customers in a range of industries to deliver everyday solutions to the marketplace in a more productive, energy efficient and sustainable way, Dragtstra explained.

"Air Products forges lasting relationships with customers and communities that are based on honesty, integrity and a passion for exceeding expectations," he said. "That's why ADP is definitely the right partner for our Global Business Services. They mirror our culture of service excellence and share our goal of continuous improvement."
