ADP® Celebrates the Drive and Passion Small Business Owners Bring to Main Street by Co-Sponsoring National Small Business Week in the United States
May 4, 2015

ROSELAND, N.J., May 4, 2015 - In celebration and recognition of entrepreneurs and small businesses in the United States, ADP®, today announced it is once again co-sponsoring National Small Business Week. Convened by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) more than five decades ago, the week-long series of events kicks off today.

"Small business owners bring a unique sense of persistence, dedication and passion to their businesses that we believe should be celebrated," said John Ayala, president of ADP's Small Business Services division.  "Not only are they inspiring their teams by doing what they love, but they are also keeping the economic engine in the United States humming."

Supporting Ayala's assertion, the most recent ADP Small Business Report®* revealed that in March alone, small businesses were responsible for adding 57 percent of total new jobs in the United States.   Recent ADP data shows that small businesses in the United States have been responsible for the following successes:

" Adding 108,000 jobs in March.
" Adding about 1.3 million jobs over the last 12 months.
" Adding about 44 percent of the total new jobs created in the last 12 months.

"This year's National Small Business Week theme, 'SBA: Dream Big, Start Small,' is something that ADP stands behind and we're proud to be part of this noteworthy initiative," added Ayala.
