ADP® Announces Expansion in Spain to Meet Ongoing Client Needs for Human Capital Management Technology and Expertise Around the World
November 13, 2014

ROSELAND, N.J., and BARCELONA, SPAIN - November 13, 2014 - ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today announced that it will significantly increase its presence in Barcelona, Spain, with the lease of a new signature building in Barcelona's technology and innovation center, the 22@Barcelona technology park.

The company said this move, over time, will enable it to increase employee capacity by more than 50 percent, foster stronger collaboration by consolidating its presence in Barcelona from two buildings into one, and increase its overall space in the city by 26 percent.  ADP said the expansion also will enable the company to continue its rapid growth in the European and global HCM operations of which Barcelona is a part.

Barcelona's city leaders are in the midst of building out 22@Barcelona into the city's technology and innovation district.  It is part of one of Europe's largest urban regeneration plans launched more than a decade ago.

"We're delighted to be a part of Barcelona's ongoing efforts to embrace technology and innovation to benefit business clients around the world and solidify Barcelona's role as a key business hub in the region," said Mark Benjamin, President of Global Enterprise Solutions at ADP.  ADP currently provides Human Capital Management technology and expertise for approximately 610,000 clients in 100 countries.  The company has been offering cloud-based technology services for 16 years.

Benjamin praised the city's contributions to a vibrant Europe, including serving as a gateway to major business centers in the region and the fact that nearly 50 percent of Barcelona's active population works in knowledge-intensive services.

"Barcelona has offered companies like ADP strong talent pools, in technical and non-technical fields alike, from which we can draw employees who directly contribute to our success as a global company," Benjamin said.  "The city offers a quality of life in which our people and our company can succeed."

Xavier Trias, Mayor of Barcelona, praised ADP's contributions to the city.

"We are extremely pleased that ADP is making this investment," said Trias.  "We see it as a sign of encouragement in Barcelona and in our ongoing efforts to provide a positive environment in which companies like ADP can succeed."

ADP's signature building in Barcelona has earned LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.  LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is awarded to no more than 35 percent of building projects submitted for certification.  ADP's new building will feature natural cooling and use 50 percent less water, reduce waste and toxicity, and occupy a smaller carbon footprint.

ADP said the move to its new signature building was scheduled to be completed this month.
ADP has long been a global leader in the expanding Human Capital Management marketplace.  In May 2014, the company announced that its ADP Streamline® global payroll solution had expanded to cover 100 countries, continuing to meet the needs of a growing number of multinational companies around the world.  Since its launch in 2006, ADP Streamline has steadily grown across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, South America and North America.

ADP Streamline also integrates with ADP GlobalView® HCM, offering clients the benefits of a global payroll capability within the secure ADP platform, and ADP Vantage HCM®, which enables large enterprises in the United States to more easily manage and pay employee populations outside of the United States.

Earlier this year, ADP also announced the availability of ADP iHCM, a truly global HCM platform that is designed to support local HCM requirements of many different countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America.  Available in multiple languages, ADP iHCM currently is available to clients in Netherlands, the UK, Germany and China.
